Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 1995, in Stavanger) is the name of a Norwegian music producer and a vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is a May 2015 release by Decca Records. It has received high praise from the media and bloggers. The singer has released a number of high-profile songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole), which are widely loved. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft and being intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music, not for an income or as a pastime and as a way to develop. She began writing songs of her own. She is credited with Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork for being among her inspirations. To counter her mother's suggestion that people should not be aiming to be famous through their songwriting skills, she instead realize the importance of themselves and the impact they have on society.
